Summary:
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

5/5

OK. Words. I need to use my words. But I don't know what to say! Can I just say that I absolutely LOVED this and leave it at that??

I am so happy that JLA is doing an NA paranormal series because I was in desperate need of one. And being JLA I knew it would awesome. And my god was it! Wicked was...wicked! Lol. There is no other word to describe it. It was everything I was hoping for and more.
As can be expected from JLA, the heroine was bad-ass! Ivy was tough, smart, fun, and I just loved her. And in true JLA fashion she was so snarky! I loved all the Disney references she made. And I want her roommate. Tink was...oh lord that dude was brilliant! I laughed so much at the stuff he came out with! Definitely one of the shining stars of the book lol! I can't wait for more from him in Torn.
Another shining star was Ren. Oh Ren *swoon* JLA really knows how to write em. There was no shortage of smexy times to be had between these two. You might need a fan while reading this one ladies. Ren is HOT! ;)

On top of a stellar cast of characters, the story-line itself was addictive. I have always been fascinated with stories centered around Fey and the direction JLA took with them was a great twist on what I have previously read. I loved learning about all the lore. I especially loved the setting of New Orleans. I have always wanted to go there but this book just cemented my desire even more. I want to visit all the places mentioned and I definitely want to try a beignet. The book is also action-packed and I was on the edge of seat, with a death grip on my kindle so many times. My heart was racing and I just could not get enough. I finished the whole thing in like a day. JLA's writing is superb and I felt like I was actually in the book, experience everything as Ivy experiences it. And that ending?? Omg cliffhanger alert!! How long do I have to wait for Torn because I need it now!! Not fair Jennifer!

This book was just all kinds of awesome. A kick-ass and snarky leading lady, a drool worthy love interest, and a story-line that will leave you breathless. This is one book not to be missed! Bring on book #2!
