Hey, all! Really excited to be part of #ExaltationHunt to celebrate the release of Exaltation by Jamie Magee. If you haven't already found it, here is the link to the release party on Facebook where you can follow all the goings on. You can find a list of all the blogs taking part here.
We're stop number 26 so hopefully you will have 25 letters already for your phrase. (which you will enter here for a chance to win)
Now, on to the reason you're here. I'm going to sneak my letter into the post, but don't worry, it will be in red and pretty easy to find. :) So, without further ado, don't forget to answer the question below and let's go hunting!
Summary from Goodreads
Fate is a twisted b*$#@, at least his was.
Was one soul worth the lives of millions? The quandary was one that Rydell King had no choice but to face. No matter the answer, the truth remained—innocence was created to destroy him. She was beautiful…extinguishing her to save his people seemed impossible, and maybe it was. As an immortal, his focus was to destroy the curse upon his people, as he devoured the emotion that bore him—exaltation, no matter the cost. She made him question everything.
Mercy had never been crueler.

Question:
Do you prefer the love stories where the couple don't like each other at first?
I'm going to answer this because it is a question that I am so prepared to give my opinion on. Plus I'm super fun :P
I really like the idea of hate-at-first-sight (or at least dislike) romances. They seem much more realistic to me as not everyone is willing to admit to that initial attraction when you meet someone. It's just so much easier to dislike someone than it is to tell the world you believe in love at first sight or fate or whatever.
Also, there is a fine line between love and hate (I'm just spouting cliches). It is so easy to not realise that the passionate Feelings you have for someone is attraction and not hate.
In the case where the couple actually don't like each other for one reason or another I think it adds more to the story as they have to overcome whatever obstacles all while butting heads or just ignoring each other and their love develops right in front of the readers' eyes which makes it so much more special. Sometimes having to work to like someone makes it all the better in the end.
I think that's enough from me. What are your opinions???

Ifeel it works I like them. But many times it just seems ttoo forced to be believable. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeletenot if it is whinny or over dramatic #exaltationhunter
ReplyDelete#ExaltationHunter I tend to like the dislike-to-love romance a lot if the narration is well done and not rushed. The problem with these books sometimes is that the transition is not believable in the least...the main characters go from hating each other with a passion with no reason at all to jumping into bed and rushing to the altar. If well done and not overly dramatic I think they are the best sort of romance to read, though.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends it does create more tension so that's alway fun. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the way the story is going. I like for them to dislike then come together but it all starts with the story line. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I do! Specially if the guy is this hot badboy, but if the girl gets to whiny, it turns me off. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the story line really #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteIt usually causes too much drama #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteI prefer relationship to start that way, it's more realistic for sure. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDelete#ExaltationHunter sometimes Love is hard work
ReplyDeleteI do but sometimes authors take that too far
ReplyDeleteI think it's too slow when they don't like each other. I usually struggle to get through the book then! #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteYes
ReplyDeleteIt's not my favorite kind of love story but I think it's funny because when they're together sometimes they're like "remember when you didn't like me?" #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteI like both. It's nice to have a change of pace and sometimes the banter between ppl who don't like each other makes for some funny reading ;) #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteYes but itcan be frustrating if it goes on for too long. #Exalationhunter
ReplyDeleteI like them. Sometimes it's just nice to watch a relationship develop. It's not that I don't believe in love at first sight, but even then, you have to get to know the person. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteI don't mind if they dislike each other, as long as it makes sense #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteI don't mind some tension, but I'd rather they not hate each other. #ExaltationHunter
ReplyDeleteSometimes, but other times I like when they like each other right away. It depends on the execution of it. #ExaltationHunter
