Book Tour: My Date From Hell by Tellulah Darling

Title: My Date From Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy Book Two)

Author: Tellulah Darling

Release date: Oct 31

Publisher: Te Da Media

Age Group: Young Adult

Genre: Romantic comedy/Greek mythology

Sophie Bloom’s junior year has been a bit of a train wreck. After the world’s greatest kiss re-awakened Sophie’s true identity as Persephone (Goddess of Spring and Savior of Humanity), she fought her dragon-lady guidance counselor to the death, navigated mean girl Bethany’s bitchy troublemaking, and dealt with the betrayal of her backstabbing ex, Kai (sexy Prince of Darkness). You’d think a girl could catch a break.

Yeah, right.

With Zeus stepping things up, it’s vital that Sophie retrieve Persephone’s memories and discover the location of the ritual to stop Zeus and Hades. So when Aphrodite strikes a deal that can unlock Sophie’s pre-mortal past, what choice does the teen goddess have but to accept?

The mission: stop media mogul Hermes from turning Bethany into a global mega-celebrity. The catch? Aphrodite partners Sophie and Kai to work together … and treat this suicide mission as a date. Which could work out for Sophie’s plan to force Kai to admit his feelings for her–if she doesn’t kill him first.

Add to that the fact that BFF Theo’s love life and other BFF Hannah’s actual life are in Sophie’s hands, and suddenly being a teenager—even a godlike one—seems a bit like … well, hell. Whatever happened to dinner and a movie?

My Review

First, I just want to say how amazing all the books by this author are. They're funny, light, incredibly cute and I am just so happy I had a chance to read them. (Okay, gushing over)

My Ex From Hell

I'm much better at writing reviews for books that had something, ANYTHING wrong with is so I'm completely stuck for this book. . .

It had everything you could want in a YA novel.

Adventure? Check!

Fighting? Check!

Self Discovery? Check!

Humour? Check! (I laughed so much)

Amazing, kickass friends? Check!

Romance with a super hot, not-sure-if-he's-quite-evil-yet guy? Double Check!!

An ending that will make you want to throw your kindle across the floor and demand for the next book, only to realise it's already there and you should really apologise to your ereader just to get back to reading? Triple Check!!!

I promise this book is so funny and amazing and just wow. I love Greek Mythology but lately the books I've read based on them have been disappointing so I've been avoiding that genre but this brought me right back in.

The only teensy tiny issue I had was that the myths weren't exactly accurate but how could they be, right? I mean it's a work of fiction and needs to be changed to fit the characters so my point is moot.

Oh and FINALLY someone realises Zeus' true character :) SO happy about that part.

My Date From Hell

From the person who brought you and amazing story about love, betrayal, death, lies, and a super hot prince of darkness comes the second book in the series. (Insert dramatic movie trailer voice)

Introducing new characters that just made the story that much more adorable and hilarious. I'm genuinely in love with this series now. Honestly if I had read this as a child, second to not getting a Hogwarts letter of acceptance I would be so upset not getting to go to this school. Of course it does have the stereotypical bully that you just want to vaporise with your magic vines but what school fictional school doesn't?

This book wasn't just a stepping stone to the last book, though it did prepare us. It has so much more funny and exciting moments to keep readers on their toes while laughing. Then there was those amazingly sweet, awh moments.

I have nothing more to say other that READ THIS SERIES and INEED THE THIRD BOOK like yesterday.
