The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. How fricking awesome is that cover?! And then I read the blurb and that made me want to read it even more. And this book did not disappoint. It was everything I thought it would be but at the same time it wasn't.
Tragic is about Rook, a homeless girl who has had a very hard life and is just trying to get through each day as it comes. One day luck happens to be on her side and her life changes forever. But will it be for the better or for the worse? I really liked Rook. Even though she makes some bad decisions she is just trying to get some control back in her life and to have some independence. I respected her for this. I also liked the way she handled things with Ronin. She doesn't give up on her dreams because of some guy and stands up for what she believes in. I really liked the chemistry between Rook and Ronin. It was definitely lust at first sight and their moments together are intense! And the photo shoots they do? They were HOT! It was running sort of close to insta-love though which I was a bit worried about.
The other thing I really liked about this book was the look into the world of modelling that we get. I was fascinated by what models have to do to get the perfect shot. Especially for these types of shots. Erotic photography is definitely not something that I imagine the average model could cope with. You would want to have some amount of confidence and strength.
The story was engaging and overall it felt very real. The way the characters acted, their reactions to situations and how the book ended. It just felt...real. And I really liked that. The story doesn't end on a cliffhanger as such but there is still so many unanswered questions. I am really looking forward to continuing on Rook and Ronin's story.

AUTHOR BIO
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
