Sophie has enough problems in her life without Spencer turning her blood to fire, without his eyes freezing and burning her, without his hatred of her. Since his migration into the house next to hers, Sophia Valdez isn’t sure whether she wants to toss him under a bus or kiss that smirking mouth of his. But even as the temperature rises around them, leaping flames of passion, want and desire, everything either has ever known will be shattered by the lurking shadow hounding their every step, wanting revenge.

Spencer Rowth moves to the sleepy town of River Port with his mother and twelve year old sister, Suzy, to escape a deceitful father, an unfaithful girlfriend and a life crumbling much too fast for him to grapple onto only to be smacked upside the head by the last thing he wanted again. Sophie was everything he refused to want. Her temper, her wit, her laugh, her smile, the way her entire body goes up in flames under his hands are things he would rather slam a lid on and forget. Instead, he finds himself falling for the smart-mouth next door. But how long will he have before the evil chasing them catches up? How long before the very thing he never wanted becomes his only thread to sanity? And who is after them? What do they want and why do they want Spencer and Sophie dead?

5/5

Oh. My. God. O.o That was INTENSE! I fricking LOVED this book!! Seriously it was just. Wow.
I loved everything about this book. The writing, the storyline, the characters, the romance. Oh god the romance. It was HAWT!! I want a Spencer. He is everything I want in a boy. He is smoking hot, has tattoos, is sarcastic and a jerk and makes you want to smack that smirk off his face but at the same time you want to rip his clothes off. When we are first introduced to him I think I literally swooned.
Seriously this was me:

I was a tiny bit put off when it said his hair was practically white. Not really into pale hair but that was just one little thing. Ok I'll try and get back on track. So when Sophie and Spencer first meet they instantly dislike each other. Spencer is a complete jerk to Sophie for no apparent reason. But as they days go on he starts to show little indications that there is more to him than meets the eye. He seems to always be there to help Sophie when she needs it. This instantly confuses Sophie. One minute he's hot and the next he's cold. Just what is his deal? The chemistry between them was awesome. Between the snarky comments and sexual tension I just couldn't get enough of these two. I loved Spencer's back story. I just wanted to hug him! Sophie I adored. She is funny, witty, and is able to stand up for herself. This one is not a push over. I loved that she wasn't the shy, loner type. She is outgoing and has a great bunch of friends. Lauren was my favourite out of her friends. The girl is just so funny and fiesty.

As the story progresses we soon find out that Sophie has a stalker. At first we don't know what this guy wants with her or who he is but it soon becomes apparent that he means business. Things get really intense as the situation quickly escalates. Ms Phoenix does everything to keep us second guessing as to who the stalker is. I have to say though that I did kind of guess who he was fairly quickly but that did not put me off one bit. It just made me more hooked. I stayed up so late reading. This book just grabbed a hold of me and would not let go. Even when I wasn't reading it, it was on my mind. It was all I could think about (Well, maybe it was more Spencer that was all I could think about :P) There was never a dull moment. The last third of the book though is when things really get going. You will be on the edge of your seat.

I really don't know what else to say. The book was intense, suspenseful and hot! I went from laughing, to blushing, to bawling my eyes out. So. Many. Feels!! Seriously by the end I was an emotional wreck. I was like "No, no, no, you cannot do this to me! NO!!"

So. Yeah. I just loved this book. I did not want it to end. Have I convinced you yet that you NEED this book?? Because you do! Like right now! Thank you Ms Phoenix for this masterpiece. I applaud you.

When she's not hammering away at the keyboard, she can be found banishing pirates or crawling through the attic looking for lost treasure with her kids. She loves baking, gardening and reading. She also likes to travel and take pictures of everything she comes across. When asked, Airicka describes herself as a sarcastic basket case that has an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, old movies and really bad jokes. She loves to laugh, make friends and write.
